Current Project
My business will be a research development center with emerging technology. Growing up near Lake Erie, and it being on fire, we face many environmental problems. Also, Cleveland being a big city having water and air quality problems like most cities it would be beneficial.
The weather forecast for Cleveland, Ohio tomorrow is a little sun with some clouds most of the day with the high being 37 degrees Fahrenheit and the low being 32. There will be little to no accumulation of snow. Some wind roughly at 8 mph with a sunrise at 7:54 am and a sunset at 5:11 pm. Cleveland usually has longer daylight hours in the summer, 14-15 hr, and in the winter shorter with an average of 9 hours. Some characteristics of my building are; cooling and heating, solar panels on a roof that faces south for sun exposure, 25% of the building has windows for natural light. East and west windows to capture the sun from the morning until the evening. A lot of buildings at Cleveland are usually tall so mine will be at least 5 floors for space and energy efficiency. It will have insulation for heating and cooling with natural ventilation along with a smart lighting system that is motion-sensored.

For my outdoor event that will be in Cleveland Ohio, I would propose a tailgate and outdoor viewing experience for the Cleveland Browns game. A live band will be playing upbeat music and food trucks with classic tailgate food like burgers and hotdogs. Also some football theme activities. This is obviously a tailgate so it should be during football season so the optimal temperature range I am shooting for is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit or 60 degrees. So those who attend are comfortable. I am assuming these would be Browns fans and are used to the weather anyway. Looking at weatherbase, November looks like the time to aim for this event where it is cool but not too cold. Plus it is in season so everyone is tailgating anyway or attending games. Considering how Cleveland gets in the fall season we expect humidity levels with moderate wind as well in early November. I would shoot for the first or second weekend of November (1-12).
The current climate type for Cleveland, Ohio is "Moist Continental". It is supposed to impact Cleveland's weather patterns, alter participation, and even lead to extreme weather events. Winters seem to have heavy snowfall and summer could face some heat waves. As well as severe storms heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. As for the building structure, I would incorporate some designs to enhance resilience that I didn't consider in the first place. For the increase in precipitation, a drainage system with proper insulation is needed to avoid floods and control temperatures. The construction of the building, insulated walls, roofs, and windows. I would add cool roofing for the hot summers, maybe reflective tiles. For the exterior maybe fiber cement or brick. I did mention solar panals but I could add solar reflective coatings as well to minimize heat absorption that could be applied to concrete or metal.
